New Naturals Organic Spices began life in 2010 as a small woman-owned company serving southwest Virginia and the New River Valley with organic livestock feed. Our offerings expanded to include organic spices for humans, and in 2015, our online site began to ship high quality spices nationwide. In 2016, New Naturals became the US supplier for the Doug English (now Turmeric Life) line of turmeric products.
Recently, the founder's son and daughter-in-law joined the business, and in 2022, New Naturals moved from its original location in Stuart, Virginia, to a new and much larger facility in Suffolk, Virginia. We now also grow some of the herbs and spices that we sell locally and online.
Our intention is to bring you the very highest quality products that we can source or grow, along with valuable information on their use.
Dr. Doug English, Australian vet who popularized feeding turmeric to pets and livestock. With over 40 years experience, Doug has cared for pets, livestock and exotic animals of every kind, from 'pocket pets' to crocodiles. In 2012, Doug expanded on his clinical use and personal promotion of turmeric by starting the Turmeric User Group on Facebook. Now numbering over 270,000 members, the Turmeric User Group has provided answers to hundreds of thousands of turmeric questions in its nearly ten years of operation. In response to many requests, Doug began to formulate turmeric-based products for both humans and animals in 2016, and now heads Turmeric Life (see our Turmeric Products page for more information). Doug continues his practice as a vet, and also serves on the Ethics Committee of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
